PCPA Residential Weekend 2008

The residential weekend will take place this year from Friday 26th – Sunday 28th September organised by Dennis Bury and Alan Thomson. (There is also an option to attend for Saturday only).

The event will be held as usual in the cosy and informal environment of The Ship Inn, Ashford Hill, near Basingstoke in Berkshire – a relaxing pub and hotel in a lovely countryside setting.

The cost will be in the region of £190 for the full weekend and £50 Saturday daytime only.

As well as specific contributions and workshops,  we are proposing an ongoing interactive endeavour addressing a range of issues and questions from  a PCP perspective.

It is suggested that we all come with a point of enquiry for ourselves and that we use the resources available  - including each other, various techniques and skills we might share, and not least the space, pleasantness and hospitality of the surroundings - to resolve or further our enquiries.

Some examples of the types of question that could be brought might be:

  • a question regarding a type of client
  • a career decision
  • a personal reaction to some aspect of engaging with PCP
  • a personal concern PCP with which could assist
  • a reflective proposition [if you were designing a book]
  • and many more no doubt.

We hope to begin by sharing the various questions we have brought and to end with some statements about where we have reached and what has helped.

In addition, Dennis is intending to bring an extensive  PCP Library for use by all over the weekend, and we are delighted that Peggy Dalton will be visiting this year.  It was she who pioneered the Residential weekends and she has agreed to present a session.  Also, we are hoping that Andzela Steinberga will join us from Latvia.
